Synopsis: A wounded Eric plays Sookie for a sucker, to Bill’s dismay, and ends up getting inside her head. Later, Sookie and Jason reflect on their recent adventure, and end up bonding at the feuding Newlins’ expense. Blaming Eggs for Tara’s bruises and bizarre behavior, Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to figure out a way to pry their kin from Maryann’s clutches. Hoyt defends his relationship with Jessica to Maxine over lunch, to no avail. Jailed by Bud along with a group of Bon Temps revelers, Sam finds a novel way to escape his cell–and avoid capture by an increasingly obsessed Maryann. In Dallas, Eric and the vampires defend their recent actions to Nan Flanagan, and are shocked when Godric decides to take the fall for their PR disaster.

i should kick the writer’s ass.

*sniffle* That is so monumentally unfair!

Godric had to die because Charlaine Harris (the author of the sookie stackhouse books) wrote the books that way. read the books the show is good but the books are great!

@emma: I *have* read the books. The show is better. The books opperate, in all the wrong places, on a “tell, don’t show” policy. Eric is repeatedly said to be dangerous and political and scary, but what is actually demonstrated on the page is a fun-loving, joke-cracking, chivalrous pervert, which is directly at odds with what Harris tells us he is.
Godric in the show is not Godfrey of the novels. The novels are loose guidelines, but show-verse is not book-verse.
I swear, if somebody says, “Read the books” one more time…

I have read the books and love the show even more. I am glad they are making their own story. I hated to see Godric die but I think his Jesus like character would have got old at some point.

OMG! Why did Godric had to burn? Its so unfair!! Im so darn near to kicking Harris’s ass!

The books are great but I love how the show stands on its own. Although Godric isn’t Godfrey, clearly Godric is loosely based on that character. This was a great episode and the relationship between Godric and Eric is very touching. My heart broke for Eric. I couldn’t stand Eric last season but I have definitely changed my mind.

wow, this made me cry, and I’m so happy to see sookie/eric even though it was a dream, I know you all are tired of hearing “read the books” but they are wonderful and without them there would be no show at all. I love the show, it pieces together the books nicely and includes its own flare, very wonderful. Cant wait to see the next episode.

I cried as soon as Eric started. I hate it when cute men cry… and what’s with sam showing up to Andy’s hotel naked? isnt Andy gonna flip out and know whats going on with him?

Hated the bomb scene. The book version was better. The bedroom dream scene with Sookie and Eric was soooo HOT! It made me fall in love with Eric even more! YUM! And the rooftop scene of Godric’s death made me want to cry. Poor Eric! And when Godric asked Sookie to take care of Eric -I was yelling “I will! I will!” This show is too good. I am currently reading ‘Definitely Dead’. This series just keeps getting better.

#1 You cannot say the show is better than the book because with no book there is no show…(HELLLLOOO)#2 Plus by reading the books you can occupy the tormented time lapse between seasons ;p #3 Charlaine is a brilliant writer & Anna Paquin was born to bring the Sookie that CHARLAINE created to life!
TEAM ERIC!!!!

@Ponceluv3:
1 – I most definitely can say the show is better, even if the show is based on the books. “Adaptation Distillation” is the term for when an adaptation improves upon its original source material (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AdaptationDistillation). Sometimes it works that way.
2 – I will admit, they do help to get one through the bits where the show isn’t running.
3 – She’s not all that great, actually. She’s hardly horrible, but she’s no Arthur Conan Doyle. Heck, she’s not even a JK Rowling. There are *many* worse books out there, by a long shot, though, and the universe she created did provide the building blocks for the universe of the show, so mad props for that, but there you are.

That made me cry at the end. WOW! HBO did a great job on his death.
Regardless of which side your on for the books or for the show. Both are good. I would have never gotten into the show if i hadn’t read the books first, and i do agree yes they do help get thought the no season parts. And even i hae to admit, i’ve been a bit confused a few times. Especially with this Godric/Godfrey thing…..
All in all, both are good.
Can’t wait for the next one!

How thoughtful of Bill to explain Sookie about blood and sexual attraction when he used the same trick to take her virginity at a very low moment in her life. Just like punching Eric wen his beloved maker is about to take his undead life.

I love Bill. He’s charming and a true gentleman while Eric is a manipulater. Bill didn’t trick Sookie into anything, he saved her life. He also burned himself to a crisp to try to save her; how much more proof of devotion do you need? Just because Eric is better looking (to some ppl) doesn’t mean he is better for Sookie. I’m totally pro-Bill

instant-shows.com usually has the new episode releases like 30 min after they air way faster then this one..you’re welcome

Ryanne, do you really think a true gentleman would take advance of a virgin in a grieving moment of her life? Something similar happened to a good friend of mine and it was despicable. She only realized this later, when moved on to another boyfriend.
I know in the movie Bill was much changed to the better than in the C. Harris texts, still I think we will see another face of him in season three. Meantime I suggest reading the original books.

When Godric died, i actually properly cried. Like tears and sobbing and tissues. Not only was it sad, whoever imagined and set that scene was brilliant. It was tragic and beautiful <3
